Create

Create covers the process end of things. Not finished objects, but materials in use. Tools, workbenches, the moment before a thing becomes what it's going to be. Botanical illustration, letterpress, ink on paper. There's a visual vocabulary to making things by hand that gets lost once the object is done and framed and photographed in front of a white wall.

This series includes still life work with craft materials, process documentation for artisan studios and small makers, and personal project images from shoots that started as something else and ended up here. The light throughout is almost always natural or near-natural. The surfaces are always real ones.
