Experience

Experience is the most difficult series to describe briefly. It sits between the food work and the travel work and the portrait work and doesn't quite fit in any of them. Seasonal still life. Sensory imagery. Photographs that are trying to capture a feeling rather than a subject — the particular quality of October afternoon light, the look of a kitchen that has been cooking all morning, the texture of a worn surface in the first cold week of the year.

Some of these images are personal project work. Some came from travel assignments and ended up here rather than in the editorial file because they weren't about the place, they were about the moment in the place. The distinction matters, at least to the filing system.
