The Life Around Me

I keep a camera on the kitchen table for this reason. Not for assignments. Not for anything specific. Just so it's there when the morning light comes in at the particular angle it only manages in March, when the window faces east and the sun is low enough to clear the building across the street and land directly on whatever happens to be on the table at that hour.
The frame here is not remarkable. A bowl of something, a cloth, the edge of a glass. What I notice when I look at it is that the life around me is already composed. I just had to stop walking past it.
The photoblog started as a place to put the frames that aren't for anyone. Not portfolio pieces, not assignments. Just what the camera found on a given day. This is one of those.
